Who am I?

Starting from today, I am picking up this blog again, as I wish to share things which others may find useful. A start at doing this, is continuing this blog, which actually was in the works for a long time, though which got caught in a web of overthinking and self-doubt. As a short introduction, I work within the financial industry, and have undergone several metamorphoses in life. My initial idea for this blog, though it may change shape over the course of time, is to share my weekly thoughts about life and topics I find interesting, which include mental health, happiness, fitness, self-development, and more, hopefully providing some value to those who are reading.

Around six years ago, I was very overweight and at the end of my studies, where I had gone from being a relatively lean guy who works out a lot, to someone who thought that they would find the solution of life in a physics equation with the aesthetic of an overweight Abraham Lincoln (with the bushy, but god-so-awful looking beard at the time before I had even heard about trimming), to then hitting rock-bottom when I realized that science research was no longer for me. Fast forward to today, I now weigh around 35 kilograms less, and have successively improved my life situation and happiness by consistent performance. Perhaps needless to say, I have gone through over a decade of therapy, which I no longer do though recommend to those in need, to get to where I am today.

I have a personal passion in finding happiness within myself, by constantly reinventing myself at any point in time when I realize something no longer works for me. I hope to share some wisdom with you by empowering you with thoughts that I hope may be of help to some, as I wish for you the very same thing, that is, to find happiness within yourself, perhaps also by reinventing yourself.

The first idea of this blog started a few years ago when I just wished to share beautiful things in life by documenting some of my travels. I still want to do this, but I really hope to impact those who stumble upon this blog with even more positive things than beautiful pictures and tales. One small tidbit I wish to share and talk about for now, is how much power there is in cultivating a sense of self. Many of us strive for so many different things, but few of us do it with any sense of direction, and via constant comparison. Some of us may one day wake up, look ourselves in the mirror after we hit a wall, a mid-life crisis, or whatever you want to call it, and ask, “Who the fuck am I?”

Well, who the fuck are You? Have you sat down with yourself and looked at your current life situation, what you are doing, where you are, and actually thought about if what you are doing is something you actually like or if you are in a place where you want to be? Are you happy? Do you feel content? Do you feel peace? Is this the life that you want?

Think about it. See you soon…
